Reviews for Emperor's Kitchen Hillarys 顺
Review highlights
Based on 173 reviewsEmperor's Kitchen Hillarys 顺 is generally recognized for its modern and comfortable ambiance, situated conveniently within Westfield Whitford City. Customers appreciate the distinctive cooking style that elevates familiar Chinese dishes, with particular praise for flavorful offerings like Honey Chicken and various stir-fried items. The restaurant’s presentation and portion sizes receive positive mentions, although some diners find the pricing on the higher side. Service is commonly described as polite and attentive, especially during less busy times. While the dim sum selections are of good quality, opinions suggest they may not fully meet expectations for traditional Hong Kong-style dim sum. Overall, the venue is favored for its spacious layout and contemporary Chinese decor, appealing to those seeking a refined dining experience.
Most of the food in the menu are the same as other Chinese food but the way it's cooked make it different and stands out. Presentation is good, notwithstanding the atmosphere. Price doesn't lie.
I ordered the dan dan noodle $19 and it wasn't bad but certainly not what I was expecting. A coconut based broth with a very mild Sichuan pepper hit? Fortunately the other dishes the family ordered were tasty especially the green beans and pork mince, the Mongolian lamb and Shanghai beef. Mum and Anne enjoyed the Honey chicken. Half serves available for all mains. Reasonable service. I would probably have given the food 3 stars based on the noodles but the other Chinese dishes I tried elevate my score to 4 overall.
It's a bit of a fancier Chinese restaurant in the shopping centre that's nicely decked out and comfortable. We went for a dim sum lunch and in hindsight maybe not the most ideal if you're going for traditional Hong Kong style. The dumplings were good quality although not particularly stand out especially when you consider the higher price. Steamed items tasted good but for the fried items, the oil was heated too high leaving a darker colour and slightly bitter flavour. In my opinion, the price and limited variety doesn't make it a go to place for a dim sum fix. Maybe the regular mains dishes are better for this kind of restaurant. Cash is preferred so bring cash to avoid the card surcharge.
Venue: Large areas of carparks. Slightly hard to find undercover carparks sometimes. Spacious dining area indoors or outdoors. Decent modern interior design with Chinese style vases. --- 7.5/10 Service: Not busy at lunchtime on weekday. Polite and attentive staff. We booked a table for 10. To be seated. Asked if we wanted Chinese tea. Take orders at the table. Order slip is available upon request. Food served fast. --- 7.5/10 F&B: Bilingual menu is like a magazine, big food photos with small words. Limited choices of Cantonese dim sums. Normal food presentation. Normal portion. Prices are slightly high. Cash is preferable. 1.5% surcharge for all card payments. Wide selections of beverages. - Chinese Tea, $4pp: loose tea leaves. Tea flavor wasn't strong enough. - Signature Fried Rice, $22: There are BBQ pork, egg, and spring onion. This is one of the best Chinese restaurants we've been to in Perth. The food was exceptional and came as a surprise despite reading the good reviews beforehand. We just weren't expecting it. The Honey Chicken is outstanding - generous portions of meat with minimal batter. We also enjoyed the stir-fried Udon noodles with chicken, which had amazing flavour and perfectly cooked al dente noodles. The entree soups were good, and the tea pot for one person literally had enough tea for three people! The restaurant has a fancy bar with an impressive cocktail menu. We're already looking forward to trying more dishes on our next visit!
First being here with family after a two hour trail walk. It’s such an amazing restaurant and definitely will come back again . The food and service are all great and we love every dish we ordered today .
Our favourite Chinese restaurant possibly the best one in the Northern suburbs. Delicious and satisfying dishes. Cosy and comfortable restaurant with good reliable service. Highly recommended.
